And They Call This Art
We all doodle or scribble on the pad while listening to others on the telephone. But where else but New York can an artist be paid to reproduce that scribble on the side of a building and call it art?This is in fact what happened. Karl Haendel, an artist from L.A. will install his “art” called Scribble, digitally in white on a black background on the wall of a building at 441 Broadway in SoHo. The construction is provided by the contemporary art sponsor Manhattan developer Laboz family.Doreen Remen of the nonprofit Art Production Fund was “excited by Karl’s work because it is accessible”. I have loads of scribbles and they are very accessible too! Doreen, I won’t even charge you as much!
